Shared Care Agreement & NHS Users:
- Request your GP to issue each medication on a separate script.
App Users:
- Renew each item individually through your app, rather than renewing them all at once.
Collect Available Medications:
- Collect items that your pharmacy has in stock.
- If your pharmacy is out of stock of an item, move on to step 3.
Step 3: Check Availability at Your Nominated Pharmacy
Step 3a: Ask About Stock
If your medication isn’t in stock, ask the pharmacy:
- "Do you have other brands or generic versions of my medication in the prescribed dose?"
- "Do you have any other doses of my medication?"
Step 3b: Release the Script to the Spine
If your medication is unavailable:
- Ask the pharmacy to release the prescription to the spine. This allows other NHS pharmacies to access it.
